Fire Inspections and Investigation
This course provides information on conducting inspections, identifying hazards and addressing violations, performing a fire investigation to determine preliminary cause and securing the incident scene and preserving evidence.

Initial Attack Incident Commander
This course is designed to meet the training needs of the incident commander type 4 (ICT4). It is presented in a discussion/exercise format. The six instructional units include Foundation Skills; Intelligence Gathering and Documentation; Size Up the Incident; Develop a Plan of Action; Post-fire Activities; Evaluating Incident Objectives and Manage the Incident. Evaluation of the student is by unit tests and performance based evaluations.
Prerequisites: Qualified as any single resource boss; and satisfactory completion of precourse work.

All-Risk Command Operations
This course provides information on conducting incident size-up, developing and implementing an initial plan of action involving single and multi-unit operations for various types of emergency incidents to mitigate the situation following agency safety procedures, conducting pre-incident planning, and develop and conduct a post-incident analysis.

Intermediate Wildland Fire Behavior
This course is a classroom-based skills course designed to prepare the prospective fireline supervisor to undertake safe and effective fire management operations. It is the second course in a series that collectively serves to develop fire behavior prediction knowledge and skills. Fire environment differences are discussed as necessary; instructor should stress local conditions.
Prerequisites:
- Successful completion of S-190
- Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior
- AND satisfactory completion of pre-selection assessment and pre-course work.

Wildland Incident Operations
This course provides information on evaluating and reporting incident conditions, analyzing incident needs, developing and implementing a plan of action to deploy incident resources completing all operations to suppress a wildland fire, establishing an incident command post, creating an incident action plan, and completing incident records and reports.

Fire Instructor I
May 27-30, 2025
Instructional Methodology
This course provides the skills and knowledge needed for the entry level professional instructor to safely, effectively, and competently teach and deliver instruction from a prepared lesson plan utilizing instructional aids and evaluation instruments, adapt a lesson plan, and complete the reporting requirements to the local jurisdiction.
Prerequisites: Introduction to the Incident Command System (FEMA / IS-100.B) OR National Incident Management System (FEMA / IS-700.A)*
*FEMA often changes course titles and course codes. SFT will accept the current equivalent course title/code.
